You have probably heard about the power of positive thinking. While there is nothing wrong with being positive in general, if you encounter a real-life threat scenario, warm thoughts and luck won’t do much to keep you safe, or give you peace of mind about how safe you might actually be; not to mention your family.
If you encounter an actual threat scenario, for example, an active shooter, the best way to protect yourself and avoid injury with the proper training. Training courses, like those offered at DTI in Arkansas in firearms defense, classes for an Arkansas concealed carry handgun license, and self-defense can all offer you greater peace of mind as well as give you an advantage when dangerous situations become a reality.
If you want to carry a concealed firearm, a permit is required. To get that permit, you need to take an approved Arkansas concealed carry course, and there are many options out there.
When choosing a course, are a lot of factors come into play, and for many of us, cost is the biggest. Because of this, people tend to gravitate to the course that is the cheapest. However, this is not the best way to select a course, as this cheap course could cost you a great deal in the long run.
As more and more tragedies caused by senseless gun violence happen, there has been an increase in debate about things like self-defense and gun control regulation. After the horrible shooting in Connecticut, there are a lot of folks talking about wanting a weapon, but there are also many people talking about limiting access to firearms. Regardless of your thoughts on gun control, you have to agree that it is a good idea for people who carry a concealed weapon to be trained, qualified, and in possession of a state permit. If someone is going to have a gun on their person in our state, you want them to have an Arkansas concealed carry handgun license for your safety and theirs.
As unpleasant as it may be, fear is critical to your survival. Without experiencing fear, you wouldn’t respond appropriately to danger and might even deliberately put yourself in harm’s way. Several physiological events occur when your body responds to an immediate threat.
However, the way in which they manifest themselves varies from one person to the next. In other words, one person may respond to fear quite differently than another. Without knowing how you’re likely to respond, you may not be able to take the right action when the time comes. By having an Arkansas concealed carry license and understanding the basics of fear, you will be better able to defend yourself if necessary.
Today, the fact that it is not unusual to hear of a public, mass shooting, a robbery in broad daylight, or a physical attack by a criminal on an unarmed victim is a sad truth. In the state of Arkansas, the Arkansas State Police must certify any individual that wants to offer a concealed carry course. Set in central Arkansas, DTI is an Arkansas State Police certified concealed carry course provider (lic. #10-606). Course instructor, Bernie Major, is a 6-year military veteran who prides himself on being thorough and diligent with each license applicant. The application process is two-fold. First, applicants must complete the concealed carry license course. Second, each applicant must demonstrate knowledge of their weapon by firing it properly in front of a course instructor.
