The Facility: Bringing the street to the range

Set in the hills of Central Arkansas, Defensive Tactics Institute features a spacious classroom equipped with a padded floor for combatives, sufficient chairs and tables and A/V equipment for lecture sessions, combative safety equipment.

Our Pro Shop features shooting accessories, ammunition, a wide variety of paper targets to choose from. Visit our online store for a selection of a few choice products.

Our onsite dynamic range is 25×20 yards that feature 3 equal berms to allow for multiple target, real life scenario courses of fire. Portable walls can be placed in any configuration that allows individuals or teams to train for home defense or active shooter scenarios. This unique feature allows for 360 degree force on force or 180 degree live fire scenarios.

Bernie Major is a 6 year military veteran with unarmed/armed combat and riot control tactics, PPCT and E. R. T. experience. He has worked on stalking cases and protected high profile people including one of Forbes recognized top 100 executives.

Bernie is an Honors graduate from Executive Security International as a Certified Protection Specialist.

A Highly decorated Master Instructor

Master Bernie Major has trained in several martial arts for over 30 years. He has competed, won, coached and officiated hundreds tournaments and championships all around the world.

Master Major was fortunate enough to be trained under the guidance of the founder of modern Taekwon-do, Gen. Choi Hon Hi and 3 of his first students. He has held a 5th Degree Black Belt since 1996.
